Parliamentary Players Program
During the busy summer season (mid-May to Labour Day weekend), six prominent personalities from British Columbia’s past, including Queen Victoria and Parliament Building architect, Francis Mawson Rattenbury, are brought back to life for our visitors, thanks to the Parliamentary Players.
The student actors’ performances, which are professionally directed, provide an accurate insight into the capital as it was in the years up to 1898, the year the Parliament Buildings were opened. Scripted materials are provided for performances during the free guided tours. The Parliamentary Players also interact and ad lib with visitors between performances along the driveways and front lawns.
Their performances incorporate information on the architecture, history of the Legislative Assembly and the start of our province of British Columbia.
